Creating the splash screen illustration for 2021 release of Bloons TD Battles 2 involved Initially working with the team to create a consensus on the theme and setting, then refining a composition that works across multiple platforms and devices. During production it was a matter creating editable and versatile elements, while ultimately ensuring the final elements provided maximum utility for the life-time of the game as a live product.

Final splash screen illustration made of composite vector art components within Photoshop. Suitable for tablet and phone device cropping.

Early stage roughs for splash screen, quick functional compositions utilizing a combination of sketched elements, renders, and pre-existing assets from the game series for internal review with the team. Exploring content, composition logo formatting and placement.

Individual elements in the scene are created separately as smart objects, and to ensure that the illustration is of a high enough fidelity for 4k resolutions, and are able to be re-used separately for marketing materials.

Key elements created as separate vector based illustrations to allow for animation, and the legacy updating of the splash screen for seasonal updates or beyond.

Mock up for animated splash sequence created within Adobe After Effects. Demonstrating how the composite assets are used for a more impactful effect.
